Service of Remembrance
MUSC Children's Hospital and the PASSAGE (Parent and Sibling Support Affecting Grief
Experiences) program hold an annual Service of Remembrance for families who have had a
child die at MUSC or at home following care in our hospital. PASSAGE is a program of
support for families who are grieving and working through the loss of a child.
The Service of Remembrance is held every November. This year the service will occur at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 6, at St. Luke's Chapel.

Our service will include music, prayers, words of comfort, a pictorial music presentation, and family candle lighting for each child. The service will be followed by a light refreshment reception at the Basic Science Building. The reception will be a time for families and MUSC Children's Hospital staff to visit with each other.
Families will have the opportunity to bring a memento of their child (one or two items, possibly a photo book, picture, or favorite toy, etc.) to be displayed on a memento table in the reception area. There will be volunteers to help you place the memento.
As part of the Service of Remembrance, we will have an audio-visual presentation that will include your child. We welcome pictures of your child. You can email the photos to kunkel@musc.edu (please include your child's name in email).
You can also mail the photos. Please include your child's name and mailing address on the back of the photo. Send photos to:
