Ways to Donate There are so many ways you can donate to MUSC Children's Hospital. This section of our Web site will provide you with a closer look at a few of our charitable programs and how you can make a difference in the life of a child. Our Children's Hospital Fund plays a major role in the development of programs at MUSC Children's Hospital and they need community support for three primary purposes. The first is to support the child life department of the hospital with toys, games, art supplies and other materials to entertain children and make their visit more pleasant. The second is to support research in the prevention and treatment of childhood diseases by seeking gifts from individuals, businesses and foundations to continuing to help develop the research programs at the Children's Research Institute. And the third is to support the development of treatment programs within the department of pediatrics. Ways to donate include:
Children's Miracle Network Every year we receive generous donations from our community through the Children's Miracle Network Broadcast. All of the money raised in the Lowcountry stays in the Lowcountry. From the donations that we receive throughout the year, to the donations call in on the day of the broadcast, we are able to purchase life-saving equipment, support vital programs and continue growing our services so we can meet the needs of our region's children. Did you know that you can start helping the children long before the phones start ringing? We sponsor special events and promotions throughout the year. These events and promotions result in contributions that are recognized on the broadcast. If you are interested in participating in one of our many events or promotions just give our office a call at (843) 792-2624. The next local broadcast will be May 31. Tune in to WCSC-TV5 from 8 am to 6 pm to see local Miracle Stories of patients here at MUSC Children's Hospital. Call in on May 31 to (800) 478-4090 or locally (843) 792-8000 to become a Miracle Maker for only $15 per month or to make a one-time donation. Donating Goods and/or Services If you or your business and organization would like to donate goods and/or services to the Children's Hospital please give us a call. View our child life department's donation wish list. Create Blank Dolls for Patients Holiday Cards Every year some of our talented patients contribute their beautiful artwork for our holiday cards. You can show your support by purchasing this year's cards. Your purchase helps ensure a brighter future for all the children of South Carolina. Quantities are limited so order your 2009 holiday cards as soon. They go quickly! Visit our 2009 holiday card collection. Honors and Memorials If you would like to make a donation to MUSC Children's Hospital in honor or memory of someone special we will send a note to the "honoree" letting them you of your generous donation. To make an honor or memorial gift, you can call us at (843) 792-0350 or send your contribution to: Planned Giving Planned gifts, also known as deferred gifts, are those made through estate planning. In most cases, their value passes on to MUSC Children's Hospital after a specified period of time or after the donor's death. These gifts may consist of bequests, gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts, to name a few. Children's Hospital Fund coordinates many year-round events and extra hands and smiling faces are always a huge help to our staff.
