Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Training Program

The objective of the program is to produce well-trained subspecialists in neonatal-perinatal medicine through didactic instruction, extensive clinical experience and research training. Clinical experience will include extensive training in the management of patients requiring extracorporal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), high-frequency jet ventilation, high-frequency oscillation, nitric oxide therapy and pre- operative/post-operative neonatal and cardiothoracic surgical support, as well as exposure to the full spectrum of medical and surgical patient care encountered in the neonatal care setting.

During three years of training, fellows will experience increasing independence in clinical decision making. The clinical curriculum includes 12 months of clinical exposure to neonatal intensive care, maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric cardiac intensive care and follow-up care of the high-risk neonate. Training also includes participation in professional educational conferences. For more information about the program, click on the links below.
